Nampa, Idaho-based Valley Wide Cooperative, and benevolence partner Arden Hills, Minnesota based cooperative Land O’Lakes, came together to donate $2,000 to the Salmon High School. The money will be used to restart their woodshop program.
Philip Goodell, teacher and soon to be woodshop instructor, said “we plan to buy tools, equipment, clamps and other materials to get the program started.” He further shared that the woodshop
program hasn’t been at their school since the 1990s, and there is a large opportunity for students to gain practical skills by taking a Career Technical course.
Goodell will start the first year with two classes, one serving 30 junior high-level students and the second serving 30 senior high school-level students. The school hopes to add more classes in the future.
